While I appreciate Casita including a plug-in voltmeter with our 2021 Liberty Deluxe, I’ve always found it a bit obnoxious and inconvenient. We like the cabin as dark as possible while sleeping and when using shore power only a quick check after setting up to verify the inverter is working correctly after setup.

I found this<\/a> (#paid link) voltmeter on Amazon. It has a single button to toggle between volts and % charge<\/em>, and holding the button for a moment turns the display off. A quick press turns it back on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trailer is on shore power in the photo, so the gauge shows the 13.6 V charging voltage put out by the converter. I don’t think the percent charge is very good but I’m not going to use it, anyway. I have a voltage charge curve on the inside front cover of my logbook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Installation wasn’t too difficult once I sucked it up and drilled the darn hole. In my nearly new, pristine trailer … well, that’s why it took me from May until October to actually install it. That and all the summer trips being on shore power, so motivation was lacking.

That’s the 1 1\/8-inch drill bit to the left.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I’d previously installed a Level Mate Pro<\/a> using the power to the propane detector. Replacing the 3 wire wago connector with a 5 wire allowed me to tap the voltmeter into the same location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
